As a key member of the victim services team, the LMS/Instructional Training Technologist will support the victim services and training team by identifying and developing the instructional design for e-learning content and lead the efforts to deploy finished products on RAINN's learning platform and the website. This includes supporting the development of new (and/or revising) self-paced and online blended training modules and ongoing training for RAINN staff, volunteers, and clients. This position will also collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure available technology keeps pace with the needs of the organization. Position can be remote delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage e-learning design and development processes.
  • Interpret curricula into effective instructional design using e-learning teaching techniques, and collaborate closely with project team(s) to ensure finished materials meet training goals.
  • Write innovative e-learning pages, storyboards and audio/video scripts, and test prototype products with sample audiences.
  • Create images, graphics, animations, videos, and voice recordings that identify a concept or convey educational messages for recorded online training(s).
  • Assist in the preparation of course materials for online distribution including the creation of training portal pages, uploading and organization of course materials and production of digital resources that will be easily accessible to a range of online learners.
  • Share instructional design best practices with other members of the project  team in the spirit of continuous improvement.
  • Launch training modules on RAINN's Learning Management System (LMS) by specified deadlines.
  • Research and resolve technical issues related to the training modules in the LMS that are reported by end users.
  • Provide aggregate and individual performance reports from LMS system to highlight areas of concern for training and programmatic managers.
  • Perform routine systems maintenance and configuration administration.
  • Assist in the design, review, testing and implementation of LMS updates and enhancements, as needed.
  • Develop LMS user procedures, guidelines, and process documentation.
  • Provide "all-hands-on-deck" support to training team as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Position Specifications/Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in designing e-courses and other e-learning items, preferably at a national level, with experience utilizing learning management systems (LMS), course authoring programs (Articulate Storyline preferred) and virtual classroom software (Adobe Connect preferred).
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with training team to ensure project goals, timeline and budget expectations are met, while simultaneously leading all aspects of design activities.
  • Demonstrable experience designing e-learning that is Section 508 compliant.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Demonstrable experience working in fast-paced, stressful environments to deliver required results.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Excellent conceptual, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Must be able to work on-site at RAINN's office and to attend meetings, as required.
  • Must be comfortable discussing issues surrounding sexual violence.
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check (administered by RAINN).

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, or a related field.
  • Master's degree/certificate in instructional design or a related field preferred.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Veterans will be given priority.
  • Experience in crisis hotline/intervention.
  • Professional qualification in instructional design or related discipline
  • Experience in the fields of health education, workforce development, and/or social justice.
  • Master Training Specialist Certification, ASTD Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP), and/or Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES).
