As a key member of RAINN's Victim Services team, the Training & Facilitation specialist will be a subject-matter expert on issues of sexual violence and lead facilitated live blended online training and recorded online training for the National Sexual Assault Hotline (NSAH) and Safe Helpline (SHL) staff, volunteers and interns. This includes initial onboarding training and ongoing training based on the needs of staff, volunteers, and interns. This position will also assist in writing and revising content to be used in the training curriculum.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an expertise in training staff to provide services to victims of sexual violence. Training and services must be research-based and consistent with best practices in the fields of crisis intervention and sexual violence prevention and response.
  • Serve as lead facilitator for live blended online training for staff and volunteer workforce, and external clients.
  • In partnership with training team, develop script and lead record efforts for effective online training for remote learning.
  • Partner with the training team to ensure the effective e-delivery of supplemental training materials and other resources through in-house online learning platform.
  • Assist in designing training that is accessible to people with disabilities and supports cultural diversity  to include race, gender, ethnicity, nation and nationhood, class, and religion and their intersections.
  • Assist with writing and revising engaging instructional materials including assessments and quizzes, practice exercises with appropriate feedback, simulations, demonstrations, case studies, worked examples, procedural steps, descriptions of concepts/processes/principles, opportunities for reflection and self-explanation, and overviews.
  • Identify emerging training needs and assist in creating (or revising) training module content.
  • Manage NSAH and SHL training user accounts and coordinate resolution of technical issues and user experience on RAINN's Learning Management System (LMS) with other training staff.
  • Manage communication with all new hotline trainees through the training process after hire, including issues with LMS, questions about training sessions, or ongoing training needs with other training staff.
  • Manage all scheduling logistics of each training, including communicating with the appropriate management team to identify ideal training dates and times based on hiring and volunteer recruitment efforts.
  • Identify and collaborate with subject matter experts as needed.
  • Develop work plans for and supervise 1-3 intern(s) and/or work-study student(s) each semester
  • All other duties as assigned.

Position Specifications/Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years assessing training needs and developing content for anti-sexual violence trainings.
  • Demonstrated experience moving in-person training to online training
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of adult learning and development theory and instructional design.
  • Experience facilitating training using  online learning platforms, such as Adobe Connect.
  • Experience with strong customer service focus.
  • Experience working well within a team working towards targeted deadlines.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions, written and oral.
  • Ability to solve problems and deal with a wide range of situations.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment when faced with complex decisions.
  • Resiliently positive and energetic attitude, with the ability to successfully work on a team and independently.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable; responsive to new information and adjusts plans and deliverables as needed.
  • Provide "all-hands-on-deck" support to training team as needed.
  • Willingness to work a non-traditional schedule, which will include some evenings and weekends.
  • Must be able to attend meetings and trainings on-site as required.
  • Must be comfortable discussing issues surrounding sexual violence.
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check (administered by RAINN).

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in communication, public health, social service, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in communication, public health, social service, or a related field.
  • Veterans will be given priority.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Spanish.
  • Experience in crisis hotline/intervention.
  • Experience in the fields of health education, workforce development, and/or social justice.
  • Master Training Specialist Certification, ASTD Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP), and/or Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES)
