The development associate is responsible for providing direct support to the development team in ensuring effective fundraising strategies and tactics are maintained. Reporting to the Vice President of Development, the Development Associate has duties that include but are not limited to:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the daily tracking of incoming checks/donations which include entering information in Salesforce, check tracker and creating internal deposit detail summary and associated bank deposits.
  • Manage internal fundraising/supporter database and donor records.
  • Manage all aspects of the donor acknowledgement process.
  • Support the Vice President of Development and development team in providing individualized support to Board members for the participation in fundraising efforts.
  • Assist Development Managers and Directors with all donor communication efforts.
  • Conduct development-related research.
  • Provide general administrative and logistical support to development team to include travel, calendar support/scheduling and meeting/event logistics.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Position Specifications/Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:

Required Qualifications:

  • Some college with at least two (2) years of experience in an office environment preferred.
  • Solid working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
  • Experience working with Salesforce or another customer relationship management system.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and balance quickly shifting priorities.
  • Exemplary organizational skills.
  • Excellent communications skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Highly creative, flexible, adaptable and a self-starter.
  • Personal commitment to RAINN's mission and values.
  • Discretion when dealing with sensitive information and ability to discuss issues surrounding sexual violence.
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check (administered by RAINN).

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with financial record-keeping a plus.

  • Must have vision correctable to a level where individual can operate a computer, visualize text on a computer monitor.
