Working closely with the Director, Human Resources and Administration, the Office Coordinator is responsible for overall front office activities, purchasing requests and facilities.  Also responsible for directing and coordinating office services and related activities including supervising programs for the maximum utilization of services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the facilities day-to-day operations including but not limited to monitor and maintenance of office supply inventory and coordination of office events.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, service providers and landlord. 
  • Complete employment verifications, reference checks and background checks.
  • Assist with implementing special programs and events which may include employee recognition and wellness/safety-related events.
  • Assist with the coordination of internal staff events and associated logistics.
  • Foster positive employee relations. Assist in the implementation of solutions to maximize employee relations and engagement.
  • Manage merchandise and fulfill merchandise orders.
  • Answer email, phone and mail requests for information from the public.
  • Comply with federal, state and local legal requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Serve on special project teams as assigned.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Position Specifications/Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years experience working in a professional office environment.
  • Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve issues; ability to research, analyze and make recommendations based on various types of information or data.
  • Superior organization and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must possess the ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality regarding all aspects of work at all times.
  • Must have a strong customer service focus and ability to work well within a team working towards targeted deadlines.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions, written and oral.
  • Ability to solve problems and deal with a wide range of situations.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment when faced with complex decisions.
  • Resiliently positive and energetic attitude, with the ability to successfully work on a team and independently.
  • Must be able to work on-site at RAINN's office and to attend meetings there as required.
  • Must be comfortable discussing issues surrounding sexual violence.
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check (administered by RAINN).

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with the Department of Defense, Department of Veteran's Affairs or in the anti-sexual violence field preferred.
