RAINN operates a call center that provides 24/7 sexual assault crisis support for national, state, and local sexual assault response programs. The National Sexual Assault Hotline (NSAH) Affiliate & Resources Manager is primarily responsible for maintaining the NSAH affiliate network, managing hotline dashboard, and referral resources, and contributes to the development of technology services. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The NSAH Affiliate & Resouces Manager will provide the following services to RAINN: 

RAINN National Affiliates: 

RAINN's Affiliate Network consists of over 1,000 sexual assault service providers with 24/7 English and Spanish hotlines, who answer most of the phone calls coming into the National Sexual Assault Hotline. They ensure survivors are able to receive local services and support where possible. This role is responsible for the following: 

  • Maintain a robust affiliate of local sexual assault service providers;¬†
  • Respond to and remediate user complaints about services received from an affiliate, and concerns from the affiliate network;
  • Manage communications will affiliates, including periodic hotline reporting;
  • Maintain accurate call routing databases and perform regular hotline testing;
  • Draft and distribute a monthly newsletter to affiliate network; and¬†
  • Coordinate and facilitate monthly webinars for the affiliate network members that enhance affiliate community connection and skills.¬†

Resource and Knowledge Management: 

The National Sexual Assault Hotline has a robust set of resources, including referral organizations that are provided to survivors seeking support. The person in this role will: 

  • Lead reorganization and expansion of referral resources for staff to use when providing crisis support to survivors of sexual violence;¬†
  • Lead the Resource Committee and its work to identify the most supportive resources for victims and survivors;¬†
  • Manage and lead a process of regularly updating resources and informing staff of changes;
  • Oversee and manage the resource verification audits;
  • Manage referral database; and¬†
  • Oversee and manage the process for responding and providing resources to those who contact RAINN administrative staff for support and recommendations.

Contributions to the development of services:

The National Sexual Assault Hotline regularly develops technology to support survivors. This currently includes the development of a chatbot, and the maintenance of a peer-to-peer chat service for affiliates.

Chatbot:

  • Manage the day-to-day development of content for a new chatbot;
  • Manage one learning specialist staff member who is responsible for developing language, keywords, phrasing, and conversation flows for the chatbot; and¬†
  • Serve as the liaison with the technology department to coordinate input language and content for the chatbot.¬†

Affiliate HelpRoom Management: 

The Affiliate HelpRoom is a peer-to-peer chat service that is available for no-cost to affiliates of RAINN. This service helps affiliates connect to survivors of sexual assault in their local communities.

  • Facilitates monthly check-ins with individual Affiliate HelpRoom users and bi-monthly check-ins with the entire HelpRoom network to promote knowledge sharing and to support quality improvement of Affiliates HelpRooms;
  • Collate feedback from Affiliate HelpRoom partners to ensure satisfaction with the service and identify areas¬† for program improvement; and¬†
  • Oversee scheduled sessions and continued maintenance of Affiliate HelpRooms.¬†

Additional: 

  • All other duties as assigned; and¬†
  • Manage NSAH staff associate, federal work-study students(s), and/or intern(s).¬†

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in social services or a related field;
  • 4+ years of experience working in crisis intervention services or hotlines, social service resource management, or related experience;
  • 1+ years of program management experience;
  • 1+ years of facilitating challenging conversations with service providers;
  • Experience undertaking research projects, including developing or implementing taxonomies to ensure clear organization of information;
  • Ability to handle shifting and multiple priorities;
  • Proven experience effectively communicating information and remediating issues in a timely manner;
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain composure during stressful situations;
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions-written and oral;
  • Must feel comfortable with using and describing technology;
  • Must possess a positive and energetic attitude, with the ability to successfully work on a team and independently;
  • Must be comfortable discussing issues surrounding sexual violence;
  • Must complete and pass a criminal background check (administered by RAINN); and¬†
  • Must have experience with relationship building and fostering collaboration among diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A degree in social work, psychology, or sociology;
  • Fluency in Spanish;
  • Experience working with local sexual assault service providers;
  • Experience providing direct services to vulnerable populations;
  • Experience managing staff;
  • Experience with relationship building and fostering collaboration among diverse workforce.¬†
