RAINN is seeking a Development Communications Manager to manage and support external communications and engagement of the RAINN community. The Development Communications Manager will serve as a key member of the communications team, while also working closely with the development team and as a liaison to other departments including the policy team. This position will dedicate their efforts to drafting and developing external content across both digital and print platforms, including project management of RAINN's digital fundraising and community engagement, and bringing collaboration and consistency to external messaging efforts across the development and communications departments. This new position will be essential to further engaging all of RAINN's stakeholders including survivors, volunteers, advocates, and funders. The Development Communications Manager will report directly to the Vice President of Communications and also have an indirect reporting role to the Vice President of Development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working with the VPs of Communications and Development, create campaign strategies and coordinate content creation, including copy, graphics, webpages, surveys, and other materials for each campaign.
  • Support the rollout of policy in conjunction with the Policy grassroots coordinator
  • Ensure consistency, and branding across materials.
  • Support the creation of engaging email campaigns and distribute emails in Pardot.
  • Proactively suggest trendsetting digital campaigns aligned with the organization's strategy and establish digital best practices.
  • Serve as the lead on special projects, initiatives, and events to promote and amplify organizational and fieldwork to external audiences.
  • Capture photographic, video, and audio coverage during events for campaigns.
  • Serve as the daily point of contact for outside campaign partners, including RAINN's digital consulting firm.
  • Working with the Development Manager, Data and Analytics, track campaign analytics, and undertake social media monitoring of campaigns to determine best approaches for the organization to convey messages.
  • Maintain and monitor campaign and cross-departmental content calendar in Pardot.
  • Manage digital advertising campaigns and report analytics.
  • Assist in the execution of rapid response campaigns.
  • other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Strong personal initiative, team player and a self-starter.
  • Experience working with digital direct response programs and campaigns aimed at constituent growth and fundraising.
  • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to reflect the organization's voice, brand with an ability to communicate with authority.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of tasks at one time, including organizing and prioritizing workload.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum direction work as part of a team and collaborate with others.
  • Demonstrate understanding of graphic design principles (working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Canva).
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CRM, CMS, and CSS, as well as social media platforms, analytics software and scheduling software such as Buffer or Hootsuite.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Salesforce and Pardot preferred.
  • Understanding of online fundraising and knowledge of Classy platform.
  • Understanding of online grassroots advocacy, Phone2Action experience a plus.
  • Experience working in a nonprofit environment.
  • Commitment to RAINN's mission goals.
  • Must complete a criminal background check (administered by RAINN).
