RAINN is looking for a Human Resources Operations and Payroll Associate Director that is experienced, detail-oriented manager to help the HR team meet the demands of a rapidly growing organization. This role will oversee all payroll functions, manage HR data, ensure compliance with federal and state employer requirements, and help the HR team identify ways to improve operations and create an inclusive workplace in which employees can thrive.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage payroll vendor, full payroll process, from payroll preparation and submission to GL import and tax filings.
  • Ensure employee tax forms and benefits elections are up to date and reflected in payroll.
  • Facilitate migration to unified human resource information system (HRIS).
  • Work with HR and IT teams to maintain HRIS and other HR systems, including managing permissions, access, and personalization.
  • Manage vendors that handle EEO-1, VEVRAA, AAP, ERISA and other reporting requirements. Manage the preparation of data required by vendors and ensure accurate and timely filings.
  • Manage compliance with registration and reporting requirements in all states in which RAINN has employees.
  • Help set KPIs, monitor progress towards goals, and recommend ways to improve HR policies and programs.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through ongoing training and participation in professional opportunities.
  • Compile and analyze data based on HRIS and payroll records, employee surveys, and competitors' practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or related field.
  • 5+ years' experience as an operationally focused HR generalist, or managing people operations.
  • In-depth experience with and knowledge of HRIS/payroll systems (e.g., ADP, UKG, Paycom).
  • Business acumen and cross-functional empathy. Able to work across the organization, understand organization needs and resolve competing/conflicting priorities and challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform consistently within a fast-paced environment, driving multiple and competing priorities, with a pro-active, high-energy approach.
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements for federal and state employer regulations (such as FMLA and FLSA) and reporting requirements (such as EEO/AAP/VEVRAA).
  • Experience managing operational functions (such as payroll, time and attendance).
  • Discretion when dealing with sensitive information.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
