RAiNN operates a 24/7 confidential sexual assault crisis support hotline called the National Sexual Assault Hotline (NSAH). All new staff are required to complete 40-hours of Essential skills training before starting on the hotline. During their first 90-days on the hotline, they are required to complete additional service trainings including, supervising chats, facilitating group chats, answering phone calls, working with Spanish-speaking visitors, and answering client hotline chats and calls. To accommodate the continuous onboarding of new staff, the NSAH Staff Trainer will schedule, design, and deliver all service trainings during a staffer's first 90-days as well as play a substantive role in improving and building out these trainings and related training materials.

Schedule: Monday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with regular evening and late night training hours in order to accommodate the reality of 24/7 staffing needs.

Essential Responsibilities:

Training Delivery

  • Facilitate virtual training sessions for each service on a regular basis, as needed.
  • Provide coaching to support onboarding for new staff and volunteers as needed.

Scheduling and Tracking

  • Schedule regular training sessions for each of the five services, as needed.
  • Coordinate with a team of 3 coaching Managers responsible for onboarding new staff to ensure that all NSAH staff receive service trainings during their first 90-days.
  • Follow-up with training participants to provide additional coaching or support as needed.

Training Development

  • Update all content in current versions of these trainings to reflect evolving needs of the NSAH.
  • Create facilitator guides and other relevant support materials for trainings.
  • Liaise with Victim Service Training Team to create materials that accompany trainings, including tip-sheets, service guides, key terms glossaries.
  • Liaise with Victim Services Training Team to improve and build out trainings.


Position Specifications/Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required:

Required Qualification:

  • Must have 3+ years of experience working or volunteering with crisis intervention services;
  • Bachelor's degree and 1+ years of social service experience. or 5+ years social service experience;
  • Must have full professional fluency (written and spoken) in Spanish and English and ability to pass a proficiency test during the interview process;
  • 1+ years demonstrated experience and expertise with developing and delivering trainings on mental health, trauma, sexual violence, and other related topics
  • Demonstrated depth of understanding of victim-centered and trauma-informed communication.
  • Solid function knowledge of project management.
  • Deep commitment to RAINN's mission of eradicating sexual violence and supporting survivors of sexual violence.
  • Exceptional logical reasoning, creative thinking skills, and problem-solving skills with the ability to untangle complex issues.
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively and persuasively in writing and orally.
  • Strong adaptability and ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check (administered by RAINN).
  • must be able to demonstrate ease of use with technology, including zoom;
  • Must be comfortable discussing issues surrounding sexual violence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Veterans will be given priority.
  • 3+ years of management experience working with staff that have varying levels of professional experience.

Mon-Fri 9am-5pm
