As a key member of RAINN's Victim Services team, the NSAH volunteer program coordinator will be responsible for coordinating NSAH volunteers to ensure the provision of high-quality services by volunteers on the National Sexual Assault Online Hotline. The NSAH volunteer program coordinator in collaboration with the volunteer management team will coordinate appreciation efforts for volunteers, communication between staff and volunteers, and ongoing volunteer retention efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The NSAH volunteer program coordinator will provide the following services to RAINN:

  • Work collaboratively with volunteers to find solutions to increase volunteer satisfaction and commitment; ensure effective working relationships between staff and volunteers;
  • Liaise with volunteers program manager and volunteer program coordinator to create and update policies governing quality-related issues;
  • Address volunteer/OHL supervisor concerns and questions related to hotline interactions, adhering to operational policy, and other related items;
  • Respond and remediate concerns regarding volunteer performance;
  • Plan and facilitate volunteer debrief sessions regarding hotline experiences;
  • Draft communications with volunteers, and identify and implement strategies to foster a strong sense of community amongst volunteers;
  • Coordinate quarterly and annual volunteer appreciation events and activities;
  • Support the expansion of the benefits program for long term hotline volunteers to aid retention;
  • Provide support to the management of the NSAH volunteer liaison program;
  • Participate in strategic discussion and planning around the growth of the volunteer program;
  • Assist with coordination of volunteer onboarding, as needed;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Performance Specific Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience;
  • 2+ years experience in the field of social services, or crisis hotline/intervention experience (paid or volunteer work);
  • Professional proficiency in Spanish preferred.
  • Possess ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with visitors, general public, and other employees within the organization;
  • Possess a high level of organization and attention to detail;
  • Must feel comfortable providing constructive feedback to diverse group of individuals;
  • Knowledge of, or experience in, direct customer services;
  • Ability to exercise good judgment when faced with complex decisions;
  • Resiliently positive and energetic attitude, with the ability to successfully work on a team and independently;
  • Must be comfortable discussing issues surrounding sexual violence;
  • Must complete and pass a criminal background check administered by RAINN.
