The Director of Internal Communications will develop and manage a comprehensive plan for engaging and communicating with staff, volunteers, and other internal stakeholders. As a senior member of the Communications team, the Director of Internal Communications will serve as a partner to leadership, providing support, feedback and guidance on key initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of comprehensive communications plans for staff and volunteers.
  • Build an informed, engaged and inclusive community of employees.
  • Oversee internal messaging strategies, including engaging employees in DEI strategies, and ensure alignment with external communications.
  • Oversee intranet, newsletters and other internal communications channels.
  • Establish and report on KPIs to measure effectiveness.
  • Produce staff meetings, developing agendas, programming and Q&As.
  • Develop employer brand strategy in partnership with Vice President of Communications and Human Resources team.
  • Support and advise CEO on internal communications efforts.
  • Advise leaders throughout the organization on communication with their teams.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Position Specifications/ Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:

  • Eight or more years of communications experience.
  • Experience managing internal communications for a mid-sized or large organization.
  • Must posses the ability to develop narratives that weave organizational mission and values with the employee experience.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication and presentation skills across media formats.
  • Ability to manage your own work and thrive in a fast-paced, high profile environment.
  • Must posses strong project management skills and attention to detail.
