The Associate Director, Grants and Partnerships will have primary responsibility for establishing and implementing the infrastructure that is needed to sustain and grow RAINN's budget through private and family foundations, federal grants, and corporate partnerships, and forge new relationships with donors to enhance RAINN's financial resources. The Associate Director, will report to the VP of Development and RAINN leadership, will manage the entire grant application life cycle- from letters of inquiry, working with RAINN leadership, writing/ editing to submitting, tracking and stewarding- of federal, private and corporate foundations and serve across departments as the central POC. Reporting to the Vice President of Development, the Associate Director, Grants and Partnerships has duties that include but are not limited to:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages the Corporate and Foundation Relations Coordinator
  • Maintain, create, and build strong relationships with historical, new and potential funding partners. Specifically, they will be responsible for managing a portfolio of 100+ active foundation and corporate donors and prospects annually.
  • Develop and maintain, in conjunction with Vice President of Development, grant application calendar for all grant requests, prospects, and reports. Build and advance a cumulative pipeline of prospects for growth, budget planning, and donor trends.
  • Set, track, and meet established metrics as outlined in the annual development plan.
  • Research, update, develop, and manage new funding partnerships and opportunities and update relevant data for proposals.
  • Ensure timely and accurate written and statistical impact reports to leadership and funders as requested and monitoring of grant budgets and expenditures to ensure targets are met.
  • Work with appropriate departments to gather data and produce accurate, complete, and prompt grant reports, and ensure that proper records are maintained.
  • Cross-departmental collaboration with department heads and all appropriate internal staff to ensure clear understanding of development needs and build concept opportunities for future funding.
  • Support the Development Department in establishing and building a strong stewardship program for current supporters of RAINN across funding streams. Specifically serving has the lead on all written development materials, forms, and letters.
  • Serves as point of contact for new corporate partnerships and strengthens current corporate partnerships to grow RAINN's Corporate Partners Program.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Position Specifications/Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Three years required of grant writing and management experience or membership/foundation relations work.
  • Proven track record in grant writing including but not limited to private and foundations, federal grants and funding requests.
  • Exceptional organization attention to detail.
  • Excellent communications skills (written and verbal).
  • Comfort building relationships and working with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of grants and grant administration systems, processes and budgeting.
  • Ability to prepare reports and correspondence and pull inferences from written material for key stakeholders.
  • Discretion when dealing with sensitive information.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word).
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check (administered by RAINN).
  • Upon hire must provide proof of vaccine (COVID-19).
