As the nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization, RAINN is a dynamic organization focused on victim services, public education, public policy, and consulting services.  With the national conversation focused on sexual assault and harassment, there has never been a more important time to join the fight against sexual violence.

RAINN's visibility is at an all-time high. As a key member of RAINN's Communication's team, the Social Media Manager will manage the organization's online presence to cultivate relationships with new and existing supporters, manage the organization's brand online, and analyze trends to create online engagement strategies.

The Social Media Manager will report directly to the Vice President of Communications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day communications on organization's social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.
  • Create and implement digital and social media strategy.
  • Manage visibility and consistency of organization brand across all social media platforms.
  • Engage with social media influencers and high-profile social media users.
  • Manage organization's online advertising (Google AdWords, Facebook Ads).
  • Track performance of all online activities; analyze metrics to make constructive recommendations to shape future online strategy.
  • Perform research on current benchmark trends.
  • Maintain relationships with third party partners to maximize online engagement.
  • Create multimedia deliverables for organization campaigns and fundraising appeals, such as web videos.
  • Support communications strategies, promotions schedule and production of materials.
  • Respond in real time to breaking news and current events.
  • Manage RAINN's online marketing process.
  • All other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years professional experience.
  • Proven work experience as a social media manager.
  • Hands-on experience in content management.
  • Excellent grasp of the evolving social media landscape and social marketing.
  • Exceptional written communication and editing skills and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage immediate, short-term, and long-term projects simultaneously.
  • Solid knowledge of online advertisement platforms (i.e., Google AdWords, Facebook Ads). Google AdWords certificationis a plus.
  • Experience with online marketing campaign management.
  • Experience in partnering with social media influencers.
  • Proficiency with HTML, Salesforce, and other CRM and email marketing programs.
  • Strong personal initiative, team player, self-starter.
  • Commitment to RAINN's mission and goals.
  • Background in PR, crisis communications, or media relations preferred.
  • Fluency and literacy in Spanish a plus.
  • Ability to successfully complete a criminal backgroud check (administered by RAINN0.
