ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN) is the nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization and leading authority on sexual violence. RAINN is a dynamic organization comprised of experts in victim services, public education, public policy, consulting services, and technology. Their team works together to provide best-in-class services for survivors, inform and educate the nation about sexual violence, and improve the public policy and criminal justice response to sexual violence.

RAINN's victim service programs, which include the National Sexual Assault Hotline and, for the Department of Defense, the DoD Safe Helpline, have helped more than 2.7 million survivors and their loved ones.

RAINN's consulting services division works with scores of institutions ... from the top travel and hospitality companies to universities, youth-serving organizations and federal agencies ... helping them improve the way they prevent, and respond to, sexual assault and harassment. Consulting services include program assessments, certifications, online and in-person training, hotline and therapy fund operations, and general advisory help.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Amidst unprecedented demand from the market, RAINN's Consulting Services Division is poised to double in size over the next year. The Vice President of Consulting Services will lead this next phase of growth and expansion. This critical role will work closely with the President and other senior leaders to define RAINN's consulting strategy while also overseeing the delivery of this high-impact work. The Vice President of Consulting Services will accomplish this by driving effective business development efforts, overseeing RAINN's consulting engagements (serving as point person to both clients and internal stakeholders), and managing and developing a growing team of in-house consultants. This is an ideal opportunity for a self-directed project manager who excels at client service work and is passionate about RAINN's mission of eradicating sexual violence in our country.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Strategic Leadership

  • In partnership with the President and other senior leaders, set the vision and direction for RAINN's Consulting Services Division
  • Refine and implement a strategic, data-driven plan for how RAINN will increase its ability to drive impact while best meeting the needs of an ever-growing market
  • Ensure consulting staff and projects are effectively grounded in the Consulting Services strategic plan
  • Continuously refine and improve RAINN's consulting offerings based on insights and feedback from the field

Business Development

  • Serve as the external face of RAINN's Consulting Services Division
  • Conduct market research and due diligence to uncover and validate opportunities for new business and pursue leads, as appropriate
  • Nurture relationships with existing and former clients to drive repeat business and build a cadre of champions across the market
  • Oversee marketing efforts and seek out new/creative opportunities to spread the word about RAINN's consulting efforts, proactively building awareness of its brand and offerings
  • Manage proposal process and negotiate terms of engagements
  • In partnership with the President, set and meet financial objectives by creating and managing an annual budget

Program Management

  • Oversee project planning for all of RAINN's consulting engagements
  • Track and monitor progress of consulting plans, ensuring engagements are executed on time and on budget
  • Effectively communicate with clients on project milestones, status updates, and escalate existing or potential issues as necessary
  • Serve as liaison between RAINN senior leadership, project teams, and clients in order to deliver optimal results and high client satisfaction
  • Oversee development of intellectual capital, including training programs and best practice standards
  • Communicate subject matter expertise through media interviews and appearances

People Management

  • Define roles and responsibilities for the Consulting Services Division, ensuring expectations are clear and staff members are set up for success
  • Nurture and mentor the team, providing opportunities for stretch experiences and ongoing professional development
  • Drive the vision and execution for team expansion (e.g., hiring, training) in response to growth goals and market needs
  • Foster an environment where talent is empowered to make decisions and are held accountable for outcomes
  • Establish feedback channels through which structured and routine feedback can readily flow

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • 7+ years of program management experience in challenging, fast-paced settings with increasing levels of leadership and responsibility
  • Business development or sales experience required, ideally in a consulting and/or client service setting
  • Exceptional communication and relationship building skills, with a track record of building trust and credibility with a wide variety of external stakeholders
  • Intellectual curiosity and flexibility with the ability to easily navigate new contexts
  • Ability to convey complex ideas in a manner that's easily understood by diverse audiences across a range of industries
  • Strong analytical skills with significant experience setting the strategic direction of large, complex initiatives and driving work forward to meet goals
  • Exceptional people management skills, with significant experience building and leading teams, ideally through times of growth and transition
  • A growth mindset with a strong commitment to professional development both for oneself and for direct reports, demonstrating evidence of coaching others to reach their full potential and deliver exceptional outcomes
  • Excellent project management skills with a track record of managing complex projects across multiple work streams
  • Experience developing and managing program budgets within complex, dynamic settings
  • Calm and collaborative demeanor, especially during high-pressure situations
  • Ability to thrive in complex and dynamic environments; self-motivated, quick and assertive
  • Deep commitment to RAINN's mission of preventing sexual violence, helping survivors, and ensuring perpetrators are brought to justice
  • Bachelor's degree required

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
