The Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network (RAINN), headquartered in Washington, DC, is seeking a short-term (80-100 hours) contractual content writer for victim services training.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Curate a Google drive of the most recent and relevant research on populations impacted by sexual violence and the effects of sexual violence
  • Review and revise content on select sections of RAINN's core online training curriculum, including:
    • Effects of sexual violence
      • Of critical importance: Information about suicidal ideation, PTSD, depression, and complex mental health impacts
    • Power dynamics/Privilege/intersectional advocacy 
    • Consent 
    • Cultural Competency/Humility
      • Older adults
      • Survivors with disabilities
      • Deaf and hard of hearing community
      • Racial and Ethnic Minorities
      • LGBTQ survivors
      • Male survivors
      • Youth survivors
    • Influences of additional factors:
      • Religion (including faith-based abuse)
      • Poverty and homelessness
      • Rural settings
  • Assess for omissions in the training and suggest new material for inclusion.
  • Identify organizations with which RAINN could partner to create future content or provide feedback on content.  
  • Present final recommendations report to Victim Services team.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • PhD or PsyD clinician specializing in sexual violence, or MSW with equivalent work experience.
